06 Dec HRH2030 Hosts Side Session at the Asia-Pacific Alliance on Human Resources for Health Workshop 2018
The 10th Annual Asia Pacific Alliance on Human Resources for Health (AAAH) Workshop was held in Hanoi, Vietnam in November 2018. AAAH was formed in response to the internationally recognized need for collective regional movement to strengthen country planning action on the health workforce system. As of 2013, members of the organization include Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia Myanmar, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. The five focus areas for the organization include human resources for health advocacy, information monitoring, capacity strengthening, knowledge generation, and technical coordination.
To kick off the 10th AAAH workshop, HRH2030 sponsored a side session entitled: “Strategies and lessons learned in increasing health workforce efficiencies for progress on the Global HRH strategy.” The session included two panels full of human resources for health policy, research, and implementation experts including HRH2030 Global Project Director Wanda Jaskiewicz and Dr. Marilyn Lorenzo, HRH2030 Philippines Project Director. The first panel focused on building the future health workforce and the second on optimizing the current health workforce. All presentations from this session are linked below.
