Training Resource Package for Family Planning

The Training Resource Package for Family Planning (TRP) is a comprehensive set of resources that supports the design, implementation, and evaluation of up-to-date, evidence-based training on family planning and reproductive health. USAID, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Population Fund, and other stakeholders, has supported its development and rollout.

HRH2030 is working with USAID to enhance the TRP’s usefulness for family planning providers and ensure that its content continues to reflect the most current thinking on family planning. The program is updating TRP modules to align with WHO’s recently revised guidance (Medical Eligibility Criteria for Family Planning, Selected Practice Recommendations) and developing a new module about the progestin-only pill. Through these updates, TRP partners can equip providers with the information they need to help clients make informed decisions about family planning methods. HRH2030 is also documenting experiences and lessons learned from TRP users to gain better understanding of how they learned about and use the resource.

To support the TRP, HRH2030 will:

  • Update existing TRP content to ensure it complies with the latest technical guidance
  • Create new TRP content for specific contraceptive methods
  • Document the ways the TRP has been adopted, adapted, and used
  • Document lessons learned about the promotion and use of the TRP
