02 Aug A Midwife’s Commitment to Her Community: Advancing Quality Health Services and Maternal Care in Rural Mali
USAID’s HRH2030 program is working in three target regions in Mali — Kayes, Koulikoro, and Sikasso — to implement a community-based strategy to improve maternity, family planning, and nutrition services, and reduce maternal, newborn, and child mortality. By building the coaching and mentoring capacity of the local health workforce, we’re working toward sustained, significant improvements in access to and quality of health services.
In our newest Exposure story, we follow Mama Diancoumba, one of 70 coaches trained by HRH2030 in the Sikasso region. As a mother, midwife, coach, and confidante, she is making a difference in the health and welfare of her community. Please click below to read English or French versions.
