Leadership and Management to Advance FP2020

Improving the availability, accessibility, quality, and acceptability of human resources for health (HRH) requires the collaboration of stakeholders from multiple sectors. While there are several well-documented examples of multisectoral collaboration for higher-level strategic planning and policy development, there are fewer examples of multisectoral collaboration to address locally-specific issues affecting service delivery. There is a need to strengthen the competencies of recognized local leaders to formulate, implement, and evaluate strategic health interventions designed to overcome these issues.

Through this activity, HRH2030 will assemble and support a critical mass of local leaders in priority FP2020 countries to:

  • Identify health workforce issues that affect the local delivery of family planning (FP) services
  • Develop a shared action plan to address these issues
  • Mobilize locally existing resources to implement the plan and evaluate results
