Final Report: HRH2030 in Mali

Final Report: HRH2030 in Mali

From January 2018 through December 2020, HRH2030, funded by USAID Mali, provided direct assistance to Mali’s Ministry of Health and Social Development (MHSD) and implemented activities in collaboration with other ministries, with a focus on ensuring that HR policies and practices facilitated the availability of quality health care and services in six regions: Kayes, Koulikoro, Mopti, Segou, Sikasso, and Bamako.

As a result of these efforts, HRH2030 Mali measurably improved access to quality health care services for 2,126, 280 women and 1,509,130 babies. In collaboration with the MHSD, the program built Mali’s health workforce capacity to implement the national strategy to improve health care and services, training more than 250 health worker coaches at over 1,100 community health centers on maternal, newborn and child health, family planning, and nutrition and malaria services. In addition, HRH2030’s community strategy contributed to measurable increases in the use of health services at the community level in Kayes, Koulikoro, Sikasso, Segou, and Mopti, impacting 2.3 million Malians in rural communities.

The HRH2030 Mali Final Report details the program’s interventions and achievements, and includes conclusions and lessons learned that will be useful to respond to the population’s needs and advance universal health coverage as the government of Mali continues to move forward on its commitment to health reform.
