Capacity Building for Malaria: How to Advise Guide

Capacity Building for Malaria: How to Advise Guide

Read this content in French.

HRH2030’s Capacity Building for Malaria activity has been strengthening the institutional and managerial capacities of National Malaria Control Programs (NMCPs) since 2017.   With the support of USAID and the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), Capacity Building for Malaria supports the embedding of long-term technical advisors who provides a framework to help NMCPs to identify obstacles that prevent their countries from achieving their malaria control goals and to overcome these obstacles to improve management and effectiveness.

This reference guide was developed to support new advisors seconded to NMCPs. It documents the long-term technical assistance (LTTA) program model as implemented through the HRH2030’s Capacity Building for Malaria activity, including sharing the frameworks, tools, and “institutional memory” of HRH2030-embedded advisors. The guide addresses what new advisors and implementing partners should know about managing LTTA programs; and guides advisors on how to navigate their role, starting from the first few months through managing day-to-day work successfully during their tenure working with NMCPs.
